Quarter 1 2022 Sales Analytics

Earlier this year I posted a blog on my analytics for my first year of operating as a business. I thought, why not share these every quarter. If you wanted to check out the previous blog it’s available here. Unfortunately I’ve not currently ran the numbers on my profits, but hopefully at some point I’ll be able to show that. Why? I covered this in the previous blog above, but basically because I find it fascinating and figure why not share it. Total Sales For the first quarter of this year, I sold a just under $21,500 in goods (note: this includes the shipping, taxes and refunds of orders removed). Comparing this to my last blog, it looks like I’ve...

2021 Sales Analytics

When I started Mountain Keyboards one of the things I wanted to do as a company was to share the financial side of the business to the best of my ability. I started selling goods in August of 2021 so really this blog should be “5 months of financial data”. Unfortunately I can’t reveal everything regarding costs of products as that could cause potential problems for other vendors/suppliers. Why? I’ve always been someone who is absolutely fascinated with business and money. There’s something about financial information that just gets my brain ticking. Being able to share and discuss information around this topic brings me great joy, whether it is talking about stocks, bank account interest or credit cards, I love...

Covid19 Shipment Delays

Howdy! You might have noticed that shipping prices on the store are through the roof, or that there's a disclaimer when you're trying to order. Unfortunately, I have come down with symptoms that may be Covid 19. I'm in a household with 2 confirmed cases and hoped I could escape its grasp. I will be taking a test in the next few days when the others in my household take their final test. I've recently learnt that it can be transmitted via surfaces and as such there is a chance, however small, that I could transfer it to you whilst I pack your order or to the various people that touch the package during delivery. I don't think it's right for...

Let's Tango

The Let’s Tango mechanical keyboard is a 40% split ortholinear board. I took the Let’s Split layout and encased it in a solid aluminium case with a brass weight underneath. With the updated Vitamins Included rev 2.1 PCB, there is added support for backlight and hot swap among other features. The case supports an interchangeable plate and interchangeable weight, however the first round will only have brass on offer. The Story I’ve been in the hobby for a few years now, after falling in love with the ortholinear layout and trying out the planck keyboard for a few weeks. I realised I loved ortho, but hated the cramped feeling of typing on a planck. I then proceeded to spend the...

Mechanical Keyboards - Sizes and Styles

Mechanical Keyboards are one of my hobbies, this sounds strange, even to me but hear me out. When most people think of keyboards they think of that 10 year old keyboard work gave you that you’ve been using for 3 years with built up grime that you use daily where the letters have faded entirely. When you think of mechanical keyboards you’re probably thinking of that Razer green backlit keyboard that you have seen at a computer store that “only gamers” use. Either way, these things are tools that most people use to get stuff done. Why? For me, I figured why not get something that is higher quality and I’m going to enjoy using and since I’d be using...
